You will hardly find a gaming fanatic that is not well versed with Nintendo DSi, the latest hand-held console from one of the leaders in gaming industry. In fact, Nintendo has been on the forefront in introducing the cutting-edge technology in the gaming consoles and its DSi version is a huge improvement over DS Lite, which was also a rip-roaring success with the teens and adult 鈥榚nthus鈥? It鈥檚 this constant thrust on introducing improvements in their consoles that has catapulted Nintendo among the top three manufacturers of the most popular gaming consoles in the world. If you have not joined the Nintendo DSi bandwagon yet, here鈥檚 everything you ever wanted to know about Nintendo DSi, arguably the most popular hand held gaming consoles in the world.
For the visual delight, Nintendo DSi comes with two additional cameras than its predecessor, DS Lite 鈥?one is positioned on the internal hinge and points at the user, and the other is located on the outer shell of the unit. Even with additional cameras, Nintendo DSi is about 12% slimmer than DS Lite. With slightly larger screens and better sound output, this revolutionary gaming console intends to deliver maximum joy to the players.
Another rocking feature of Nintendo DSi is its multi-purpose usage, which allows you to not just play games, but also take pictures, listen to your favorite music and even run some software using SD Card.
Basically, Nintendo DSi is a vast improvement over its previous versions 鈥?Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite. With this version, the company intends to challenge multiple devices at one go. While the emphasis is on gaming (and the console doesn鈥檛 disappoint on this front), Nintendo DSi has its eyes firmly fixed on giving the teens an alternative to expensive iPod and a camera. With multi-functionality as its hallmark, this gaming console is all set to reach the zenith of popularity, as the company promises better advancements in later versions as well.
Nintendo DSi is already a rage among Japanese players, but even US players can order this gaming console online at highly competitive prices. In fact, it makes sense to order Nintendo DSi online due to the ease of shopping the Web affords. There is little point in visiting your nearest store to just physically check out the console because all the Nintendo DSi consoles will appear similar. Moreover, you鈥檒l always buy with some kind of return assurance should you find the shipment defective.
The price of this console could be an issue for some, but with time, one thing is certain. The price of Nintendo DSi is bound to come down to more affordable limits.
And while it鈥檚 true that the latest games first appear in the Asian markets, ye there are some online stores that allow pre-orders so that even American players get to enjoy the latest games without any delay. Moreover, you can also expect same day delivery for some orders depending on the availability with the stores.
Whether the party is for a kid or for an adult one thing is certain, all birthdays are special
Whether the party is for a kid or for an adult one thing is certain, all birthdays are special! And planning a birthday party is harder than it sounds. It抯 more than just making a guest list and buying the birthday boy or girl a present. It抯 about making the day special as it should be, and memorable, and birthdays are the perfect time to show a person how much they mean. With all of those things in mind the next time you walk into a birthday party and see the lights, balloons, streamers or if you notice that the napkins match the plates, remember that someone spent a lot of time and money to get even the smallest detail right so that a loved one can have a great birthday celebration. Who knows, maybe one day you抣l be the one having to throw a birthday bash! So here抯 everything you need to know about birthdays parties and decorating.
You know who your friends are and you know that family members will show up for the big day, so now you have an idea of how many people will be at this shindig. You call a caterer or visit the grocery store and get the things that you would like (and other too) to serve at the party. So within, give or take, two days you have gotten the easy parts done. Now it抯 time to delve into the real trouble-maker behind any birthday party; decorating.
Now you may not think decorating is much of a big deal, after all they are just a bunch of streamers and balloons right? Wrong, every individual ornament or piece of decoration used usually contributes to the overall theme of a birthday party. And yes birthday parties, even ones for adults, have themes. And the theme you choose for the birthday party will help you determine what kind of decorations you will need, what style of decorations will compliment the area in which you are having the party and the color or combination of colors that the decorations should be.
At this point you should think about getting the most anticipated item of any birthday party and possibly the only decoration that a party cannot survive without, and that is the birthday cake. The cake can be as elaborate as you can afford or as modest, but what is most important is that the cake not only matches the other decorations and general theme of the party, but the cake should also reflect something of the birthday boy or girl.
Once a theme is chosen and you know the decorations you want to use, the next task is putting the decorations up in the most appropriate and flattering place. This may take a while and several opinions before the right spot is found for a particular set of decorations. But the work and decorating are not over just yet, because whatever food or candy you are offering your guests has to be conveniently available, as well as plates, cups and napkins. Remember, when serving anything edible always be sure to use clean dishes, and use dishes and serving trays that will make the food or snacks on them seem delectable.
Other negligible factors will depend solely on the age of the birthday person and the likes/dislikes of the same are dress code, alcohol, music (DJ or home stereo) and of course, the time the party is scheduled to start and its subsequent end. Above all, the ultimate goal is to ensure that the birthday person is having a great time and your guests are treated well. So birthday parties, though they often run smoothly and easily, are much more complicated than you might think, and the only reason birthday parties seem so easy to pull off on the surface is because someone is doing a lot of work below deck.
All who wander may not be LOST, but all who are LOST are, well, losing it
All who wander may not be LOST, but all who are LOST are, well, losing it. Why do they do it to themselves, these LOST fans? I like good TV as much as the next guy (when it actually happens), yet even if I did like LOST it wouldn抰 be with more than the casual interest I give shows like Greys Anatomy, or Prison Break. I look forward to my one house escape from reality and that抯 it; why can抰 LOST fans get enough?
Proof positive is this one particular LOST-addicted soul, Doc Arzt. I抦 guessing that is not his real name, although I wouldn抰 be surprised if he抎 legally changed to it by now, since it is also the name of a short lived LOST character from season one. (Remember, I said I didn抰 like it, not that I never watched it.)
I knew I was in for trouble when I read the title of his LOST article 揕OST is a cruel mistress? Clearly the BDSM implications were a little descriptive of this guys relations with LOST, but clearly just the tip of the iceberg as far as poor soul is concerned. The piece is basically the inner spewing of an obsessive compulsive LOST fan who despite opening his piece with an attempt to convince us that he has a life, clearly does not.
I challenge you to read this piece. Look, I抦 not the guy who cuts the power cables at house parties; but LOST simply is not edifying enough to deserve the apparent desperation that its fans exhibit over its frequent re-runs and absences. It抯 as if LOST is on the verge of curing cancer if it could?only?stay?on?a?little?longer.
If you抮e one of those LOST fans like this guy, I抦 sure you just want to strangle me right now; but why not try an alternative to LOST obsession?It抯 called 慍ognitive Behavioral Therapy? look it up ?it抣l change your life.
Movies have always fascinated people the world over
Movies have always fascinated people the world over. The classic movies of the
50s and 60s have enthralled viewers with their magnificent scenery, great
storylines, and sizzling star castings. These movies have never gone out of
style or even out of our minds. Movies like 'Gone with the wind', 'Sound of
music', 'My fair lady' and 'Roman Holiday' all have their own unique charm that
has captivated the hearts of millions of viewers the world over. These epic
movies have created a permanent place in the hearts and minds of millions of
moviegoers.
Watching these all time great movies on DVD is a great way to celebrate holidays or other special occasions. We will be discussing here some of the greatest movies of all time which are available on DVD for home viewing.
One such great "must watch" is the epic movie named 'Ten Commandments' based on the biblical story of Moses. This movie is great to watch with the whole family. The character of Moses was portrayed by Charton Heston, which became as immortal as the film itself. The story from the bible is the source of the plot, along with it the backdrop of an era before Christ, where Jewish slaves where inhumanly tortured. Together with the intriguing life of Moses, these things combine to make this movie an all time great.
Another such piece, which comes to mind while talking about the all time great movies on DVD, is the classic musical 'Sound of music'. This is the story of the VonTrapp family with seven little children who lost their mother very early and were raised by their father captain Georg VonTrapp played by Christopher Plummer. Along comes Maria played by Julie Andrews who serves as a governess for these seven children. The songs in this film herald the musicals of that era. One the most wonderfully shot, picturized and choreographed movies of all time is this one, which we would love to treasure on DVD. It is a great film, which can be watched by every generation and will remain forever young in the minds of generations to come.
A classic movie called 'My fair lady' is an all time favorite for most viewers. It is about an uneducated woman who sells flowers. The main character Eliza Dolittle played by none other than beautiful Audrey Hepburn and Professor Henry Higgins played by Rex Harrison. Here Audrey Hepburn plays a clumsy flower girl with thick cockney accent.
Another very nice heart warming romantic movie, which is a good watch on your home DVD is the classic 'Roman Holiday'. Audrey Hepburn plays Princess Anne who is weary of the strict protocols and anxious to have some fun before she is crowned with the responsibilities of the affairs of the state. Anne escapes her royal retainers in Rome and scampers incognito through the city. She happens to meet American journalist Joe Bradley played by none other than the handsome Gregory Peck, who at once recognizes her as a source of hot news and offers to give her a guided tour of Rome. Both characters fall in love with each other.

Cristiano Ronaldo鈥檚 Named His New Baby Cristiano Ronaldo 鈥?Obviously鈥?br/>
Not at all narcissistic Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly decided to give his new son exactly the same name as him. We know, we couldn鈥檛 believe it either鈥?br/>
The football star鈥檚 sister revealed yesterday:
鈥淭he baby is doing very well. Cristiano chose the name but we like it. We're very happy about what Cristiano has done."
Well at least you鈥檙e happy with it love. Reports today also suggest that the football star hand-picked the surrogate mother who had his baby as he was simply desperate to have a child, and what鈥檚 more the new arrival is said to look just like him - what he鈥檚 got greasy hair, plucked eyebrows and waxed legs as well?
Baby Cristiano (it just doesn鈥檛 sound right does it?) is now being cared for by the star's mum and sister in Portugal, while he enjoys a nice holiday in New York with his model girlfriend Irina Shayk (see above pictures of Ronaldo working on his tan yesterday while on said holiday)鈥?br/>

鈥楢rf 鈥榓rf, But seriously 鈥?apparently the crowd at Madison Square Gardens in NY went f-ing mental last night when Lady GaGa performed a special two hour long homecoming concert.
As per usual the singer played all of her biggest songs, and she also wore all of her most outlandish stage costumes, but on a sentimental, personal note GaGa told the audience at the stadium:

Naomi Campbell Showers Herself In Champers Ahead Of War Crimes Tribunal..
As her impending date to give evidence at the war crimes tribunal of Charles Taylor readily approaches, Naomi Campbell decided to kick back and have a blast at a party in St Tropez with her boyfriend and Sir Philip Green.
The model was literally squealing with delight as she was showered with champagne (that鈥檚 when model鈥檚 are at their happiest you know) while at a costume party earlier this week.
Let鈥檚 hope Naomi can keep smiling even when she鈥檚 being hauled to the war crimes tribunal in the Hague, because thus far she鈥檚 refused to give evidence in the hearing. And hell really do hath no fury like a Naomi Campbell scorned you know鈥?br/>
These Rooney Family Holiday Pictures Almost Melted Our Icy Hearts鈥?br/>
We said almost - not completely (don鈥檛 worry, we鈥檙e still as bitter and sarcastic as ever). Yes for just a second these pictures of Wayne and Coleen Rooney playing with their little son Kai while on holiday in the Caribbean actually melted our hearts.
Aw, just look at the way Wayne is holding his son adoringly above his head while making funny faces at him!
Oh no, hang on a second - that鈥檚 just his normal-looking face isn鈥檛 it? Our bad鈥?

Li Songsong was born on 1973 in Beijing, China
Li Songsong was born on 1973 in Beijing, China. He lives and works in Beijing,
China. His painting was the kind of iron candy boxes he played with when he was
small. Its title was "Beijing Candy." There was another one called "Digging,"
which depicted some soldiers digging trenches. He painted above two paintings
between 1997 and 1999. At that time, he just graduated from college and had not
much to do at home so he painted those. This way of thinking was not especially
active back then.
He made "Horse" in June 2001. He started to paint these paintings during that summer when he found some old photographs. Originally he wanted to paint something that had a certain distance from reality. He thought to construct a scene in painting, representing things or a certain sentiment from our real life, was not so interesting.
The painting of the soldiers digging the trench, for example, was a picture he saw by chance. He felt attracted to the process of looking at photographs. When he looks at pictures in a book, he usually turns them over when we understand the meaning in them. He painted this picture probably because He looked at it so closely. It was a very plain photograph: some people in uniform were digging into the earth on a wasteland. After he read the explanation, he realized that the people were voluntary soldiers digging a trench during the Korean War. If you look at an image long enough, you will discover other meanings in it. He had also painted images from TV, the portrait of the late Deng XiaoPing for example. At the time when he passed his portrait was on TV every day. I took a picture of his portrait and painted it. But he didn't continue with this kind of topics, including the one of the candy box. Perhaps he wanted to paint some existing and ready-made things at that time. But he didn't want to sketch a person in a conventional type of space. He wanted the original image to be something one dimensional.

Kevin Appel transformed the main gallery space at Angles into an airy, light-filled modern domestic interior through the magic of traditional paint on canvas and linear perspective
Kevin Appel transformed the main gallery space at Angles into an airy,
light-filled modern domestic interior through the magic of traditional paint on
canvas and linear perspective. Four paintings (all 1999), one on each of the
gallery's four walls, depict views from a skylit interior courtyard of an
imaginary house designed by the artist and resembling the Case Study houses
built in Los Angeles in the 1940s and '50s. Representing views toward the north,
south, east and west, the paintings were hung on walls corresponding to these
directions. The gallery space doubled as the courtyard, and the perspectival
vistas were consistent with one another, especially as the viewer stood in the
center of the gallery, pivoting to face each painting. Perspective, of course,
is contingent upon the eye of the beholder; and this is painting that clearly
takes respectful account of its viewers. With a pale, cool palette of blues,
greens, creams and white, Appel delineates crisp spaces articulated by boxy
panels, pillars and windows. Punctuating the multiple cubic spaces in the
paintings are stylized trees; spheres made up of floating triangles painted in
transparent greens and ochers sprout from flat vertical bands that signify
trunks, though they are not rooted in anchoring pots or earth. Enhancing the
illusion of space, the three-dimensionality of the trees' crowns also softens
the planar quality of the architecture, while maintaining a rigid, unforgiving
geometry.
Kevin Appel抯 paintings for the past ten years have addressed the relationship between physical space, architecture, and the painted image. Currently, this interest has turned toward representing an illogical relationship between an iconic architectural representation of a home and its natural surroundings.Gravity has given way to a cataclysmic albeit humorous amalgamation of American vernacular architecture and modern structures impaled by caricatured trees and logs. The house form is abstracted and manipulated; multiplied, overlaid and folded into itself to create an uneasy narrative of muscular upheaval. The current paintings follow an approximation of perspectival convention as it pertains to representation, but this effect is not tied to any outlying origin. The causal forms are primal structures--simultaneously recalling a child's drawing of home and the architecture of the American frontier. They are both four-sided pitched roof structures and cobbled together shelters that are themselves still partly "of nature" or 揼round? This sense of the figure being inseparable from the ground exists as a driving premise - an exigent proposal that is not entirely in a pictorial space, but exists as a philosophical position based in experience. The architecture is caught in a moment of simultaneous becoming and dissolution.
